The “SAKURA” Japan Women’s Wine Awards is the largest Wine competition in Asia. In 2022 the total entry of 4.652 wines were received from 25 countries, the largest number ever! This unique competition evaluating wine from around the world from a woman’s perspective has garnered interest globally and has set a new precedent for wine competitions. The 100 point scale was used for selecting Double Gold, Gold and Silver medals. Next year it will celebrate the 10th Anniversary. These are the results we achieved:
Gancia Prosecco Doc Brut – 1 GOLD MEDAL
Gancia Moscato Rosé - 1 SILVER MEDAL
Luis Eight Gin scored a 93 pt (silver winner) and was named Italy Gin of the Year at the 2022 NY International Spirits Competition.
This competition differentiates itself by having a trade-only judging panel, with no amateur participants. Retail store buyers, on-premise beverage directors, distributors and importers serve as the judges; the organizers contend that it is the trade that truly knows what consumers want since they receive daily feedback from consumers.
The New York International Spirits Competition was first run in 2010. It has spawned sibling wine, beer and cider competitions in the city, and various events around the globe, such as the Berlin International Spirits Competition. Together these form part of the International Beverage Competition Series. Award levels are Double Gold (based on unanimous acclaim from all judges on a particular panel), Gold, Silver and Bronze. Double Gold winners are then re-tasted for best in category awards.

Gancia Cuvée 60 Mesi Riserva Alta Langa Docg 2011 was selected among the TOP HUNDRED 2021, the selection of the 100 best Italian wines by Il Golosario published by Paolo Massobrio, an award that is given only once to a winery, without rewarding the companies of the previous years.
The selection of the best Italian wines signed by Paolo Massobrio and Marco Gatti celebrates in 2021 20 years and it is confirmed as one of the most long-lived and interesting on the national oenological scene. The criterion chosen is to identify 100 wineries each year that deserve the podium, without rewarding those of previous years, to offer a unique ‘overview’ of the ‘Italy to drink’.
Following the selections made by the commission of Sparkle 2023, the guide dedicated to the best Italian dry sparkling wines published by Cucina & Vini, the quality of Casa Gancia was awarded with the maximum recognition of the 5 Spheres to CUVÉE 120 MESI RISERVA ALTA LANGA DOCG BRUT 2009
